Under the impulse of Kunstwerkt, more than 2,000 artists across Flanders and Brussels open their studios to the public. During Atelier in Beeld at Werkplaats Walter, many of the artists working here will open their doors. Discover their practices and range, from painting, graphic design, drawing and weaving, to architecture, multimedia installations, photography and much more.
From 11h until 18h, you can visit the open workspaces of Francesco Del Conte, Aurike Quintelier, INFINITIF, Tim Bruggeman, Renée Pevernagie, seppe de roo, Amandine David, Maria Ferreira Silva, Kaat Lens, Arthur Boyer & Romain Nadal (Misty Blue), Wannes Lecompte, Anyuta Wiazemsky Snauwaert, Gert De Clercq, Jesse Van Dun, Quentin Materne and Sarah Duby.

After renovations in 2018 and 2025, Werkplaats Walter now offers 1,200 m² of high-quality workspace within walking distance of Brussels-South. The building includes 17 studios and workspaces for artists and makers, available for individual or shared use. All spaces benefit from natural daylight, (adapted) lighting, heating, work walls, and access control.
We currently have a few spots available: a place in a shared studio, a private studio (can also be share by two people), and a place in a shared workshop for a carpenter or woodworker. Interested? Sign up for a guided tour at 2 PM or 4 PM. Registration link to follow.
In March, Walter resident Sam Comerford performed a beautiful concert with the American pianist and composer Myra Melford. On that same day, we also welcomed six students from KASK & Conservatorium Ghent. Together with mentors Sam Comerford and Teun Verbruggen, they spent two days intensely working on a selection of Melford’s compositions, culminating in a stunning concert that same evening.
Jone Oosterlinck, Lara Camur, Noah Jordens, Rik Baeyens, Ferre Vankeirsbilck and Kasper Snellebrand decided to continue their collaboration as Tapis Plein and will be rehearsing in our concert hall on May 2. This open band rehearsal offers a unique opportunity to witness the creative process of these musicians up close. It’s also a chance to experience what Werkplaats Walter also stands for: supporting artists who are actively developing their practice. Welcome!
