Quentin Stokart brengt de impro community samen. Improviseren is integer zoeken, luisteren en reageren op elkaar. Samen en krachtig. Een maandelijkse avond van vrije improvisatie die klinkt voor wie geen stem krijgt.
We krijgen opnieuw gezelschap van beeldend kunstenaar en 'Walter-artiest' Renée Pevernagie. Samen met Renée gebruiken we papier, bamboestokken en houtskool om te reageren op de muziek die ter plaatse gespeeld wordt. Zo zien we een even spontaan kunstwerk ontstaan. Iedereen mag bijdragen, voorkennis is niet nodig!
In haar praktijk ontstaan de tekeningen van Renée Pevernagie laag na laag: pigment, pastel en houtskool worden aangebracht, gefixeerd en weggekrast. In het spel van licht en donker duiken planten op als autonome vormen. Kleine studies groeien uit tot grotere composities met verfijnde kleuropbouw en filmische structuren.
Om 19.30 uur start de Improv & Sketch onder impuls van Quentin. Een Walter-kunstenaar vertaalt het idee van de open tekentafel naar de muziekzaal en nodigt iedereen uit om het tekenmateriaal te verkennen.
Om 20.30 uur start de tweede set, open voor iedereen die wil improviseren.

Opnames verschijnen op Bandcamp, ook daarvan gaan alle opbrengsten naar de geselecteerde NGO's. De tekeningen en beeldende restanten sieren de reeks.
'Improv & sketch for humanity' vindt elke tweede zaterdag van de maand plaats, telkens van 18:30 – 22:00, tot en met 9 mei 2026. Vrije bijdrage. Alle opbrengsten van de reeks 'Improv & Sketch for Humanity' gaan naar Karama Solidarity, Mamas for Africa, Brussels for Palestine & Médecins Sans Frontières, voor mensen in Gaza-Palestina, Congo en Soedan.

Quentin Stokart brings the impro community together. Improvisation is an honest search — listening and responding to one another. Together and with strength. A monthly evening of free improvisation that gives sound to those who have no voice.
We are once again joined by visual artist and “Walter artist” Renée Pevernagie. Together with Renée, we will use paper, bamboo sticks and charcoal to respond to the music being played live on site. In this way, an artwork emerges that is just as spontaneous as the music itself. Everyone is welcome to take part — no prior experience is needed!
In Renée Pevernagie’s practice, drawings are built up layer by layer: pigment, pastel and charcoal are applied, fixed and scratched away. In the interplay of light and dark, plants appear as autonomous forms. Small studies grow into larger compositions with refined colour structures and a cinematic quality.
At 7:30 pm, Improv & Sketch begins under the guidance of Quentin. A Walter artist translates the idea of the open drawing table into the music room and invites everyone to explore the drawing materials.
At 8:30 pm, the second set begins, open to anyone who wishes to improvise.

Improv & Sketch for Humanity takes place every second Saturday of the month, from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm, through 9 May 2026. Pay what you can.
