Hilde Marie Holsen - trumpet, electronics
Lynn Cassiers - vocals, electronics

Holsen et Cassiers sont d’indispensables meneuses d’une génération actuelle de musiciennes résolues, avançant tête baissée dans une avant-garde séduisante et modeste car embrassant tous les courants.
Anne Yven, Citizen Jazz

Holsen & Cassiers is the new duo of Norwegian trumpeter Hilde Marie Holsen and Belgian vocalist Lynn Cassiers. This new project saw the light in September 2017, when both artists were invited as representatives for their respective countries at a Match&Fuse-event in Dublin. Given the opportunity to work together for five days, their collaboration felt extremely natural and resulted in a great success on the night of performance. January 2023 they released their first album 'Walking In Circles'.

Blending acoustic instruments with live processed electronics, Holsen & Cassiers create inventive soundscapes in which elaborate noises as easily melt together as fluently as they can explode in totally different directions.

Michaël Attias has earned a reputation as one of the most questing and keenly collaborative figures on the 21st-century New York jazz and impro scene. Migrations spanning North Africa, the Middle East, Western Europe and the American Midwest ultimately brought Attias to New York City in 1994, where he continued to pursue his muse as improviser, composer and bandleader. As a leader, he has released eight albums, including the 2019 Out of Your Head release échos la nuit (featuring Attias solo on alto saxophone and piano), and the 2017 Clean Feed debut of his Nerve Dance quartet with Aruán Ortiz, John Hébert and Nasheet Waits.

The Michaël Attias European Quartet is based in Berlin and comprised of two other ex-pat musicians — guitarist Simon Jermyn and bassist Miles Perkin, from Ireland and Canada respectively — and drummer Samuel Ber, who floats between Paris, Brussels and the Road, as I do presently between the Road, New York and Berlin. I had the image, the very first time we played as a quartet, of doors opening on earth, in the sky, underwater. I heard song piercing through a cloud of sound, magical connection, deep lyricism, angular inquiries, open rhythmic concepts, radiant grooves, written forms dissolving in a sky of spontaneous invention. This a band with the possibility of all kinds of travel...
